Richard J. McWhorter Stearman Collection

Abstract Richard J. McWhorter (1921-2007) was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho and had a long standing and multi-faceted interest in aviation, including owning and restoring vintage airplanes. The collection includes manuscript materials, ephemera, audio-visual materials, and approximately three hundred (300) photographs documenting the restoration of a Stearman C-3B (#NC7550), on display at The Museum of Flight, as well as a Stearman C-3R (#NC656K).

Iva and Homer Metz Space Collection

Nancy and Klaus Meyn Trans World Airlines Collection

Contents of the Collection This small collection is comprised of Trans World Airlines (TWA) stationery and a magazine advertisement, circa 1950s-1960s. The stationery includes four notecards with small color lithographs of TWA promotional posters featuring motifs representing Philadelphia, Hawaii, and San Francisco, as well as one featuring the Boeing 707 as the "World's Fastest Jetliner." Letterhead on TWA stationery features company images and a route map. Magazine advertisement promotes winter travel on TWA routes.

Desiree "Jerry" Clifford Michaud and Thelma Irene McGraw Papers

Abstract Jerry Michaud (1924-1982) Michaud served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Naval pilot in the Pacific Theater. Thelma McGraw (1920-1996) She worked as a stewardess with United Airlines (UAL). The collection contains textual materials, black-and-white photographs, and ephemera associated with their 1942-1952 naval and commercial airline careers, respectively.
